the outdoor venue Art-in-the-Park, both in Harwich Port.  Jini grew up in Hudson, MA, a small mill town thirty miles west of Boston.  She attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she took some art classes from Ian MacIver.  Still loving art when the child-rearing and moving were over, she started to take art classes again from the late Lillian Whiteman, and was also a student of late author and TV artist, Helen Van Wyck.  Lillian taught Jini the beauty of painting highly representational still-life, landscape, and seascape, still her favorite subject matter.  Mainly self-taught, Jini is a member and a past director of the Guild of Harwich Artists Summer Gallery.  Jini has lived in and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and even Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji, but paints mostly at the Cape, where she feels the light and scenery are not to be surpassed anywhere in the world.  She has painted exclusively in oils for the better part of twenty years.
