www.MarilynKacergisArt.com A Massachusetts native, Marilyn was born and raised in Newton. She received a BA in Elementary Education from Boston College, a Masters degree in Speech and Language from Boston University, and a Masters in Education from Fitchburg State. She and her husband Clem raised their two children in Dedham, while for twenty-five years Marilyn taught special education students at Blue Hills Regional Technical High in Canton. For forty years they summered in Harwich Port running a deep sea fishing business. Clem and Marilyn moved down permanently after she retired from teaching. A teacher by vocation and an artist by avocation, for nearly thirty years Marilyn painted as a hobby during her spare time. While she studied oil painting for many years, she has recently become interested in watercolors. While Marilyn feels comfortable with oil paint, she loves the freedom of expression that watercolors afford and has taken classes with several local watercolor artists. Painting Cape Cod scenes is her main area of focus; light houses have particular appeal, and presently are Marilyn’s area of specialization. |
