Frances
McLaughlin is a wife, mother and grandmother, who lives in Harwich
and is doing exactly what she has wanted to do her whole life,
paint! At 14, she won a full three year scholarship to the
Boston Museum of Fine Arts. At the end of that time, life
interred and she didn't return to studying art until she turned 38.
Teaching
art to grades one to eight at a private school in Boston was a
delightful time in her career. As much as she loved children, she did
not have enough time to do her own work. Nor did it happen when she
worked for 20 years as a graphic designer. It was only when she and her
husband Tom, took an early retirement that she was able to pursue her
dream as a painter.
Winning
numerous awards and being featured at Cape Cod Museum of Art, in Dennis
was the highlight of her career.
Her
work can be seen at Sandpipers in Wellfleet and the Old Village Gallery
in Chatham.
