Artist’s Statement:
"I
guess I was born an artist, but my journey through life took me on
different paths. I studied for many years with a prominent artist,
and at the time I was influenced by the works of the Old Masters. I
also studied at the Art Students League in New York City and had
dreams of living in a loft in Greenwich Village and just painting
away forever and ever. Life sent me on another path.
I
married twice and had two beautiful children. As a single mother I
went back to work, so my painting took second place. During those
years, I painted murals on Harley Davidson motorcycles and scenery
for a local playhouse.
Now,
living on the Cape, a whole new world has opened up to me. The
excitement of the ocean and of the constantly changing
atmosphere
has inspired my vision to see and paint the beauty that is here on
the Cape, from the smallest broken shell to the ever changing
ocean. There is beauty in all.”
My
paintings are one of a kind originals. When I
create a painting I have an idea within my spirit of
what I would like to achieve. I never reprint or
paint anything twice. As my work progresses it
starts to take on a life of it's own. I never know
what the finished piece will look like and it is
always exciting for me to realize that it has turned
out better than I could have imagined. Still life,
people and landscapes are painted realistically but
are still one of a kind pieces.
