Born in Yonkers, NY, Maryrose has been involved in art from an early age.  She attended SUNY New Paltz and Potsdam where she studied art and education.  In New York, she taught in the Yonkers Public Schools and later moved to Puyallup, WA, Kansas City, KS, and Omaha, NE.  In each state in which she lived, she managed to teach children, design murals, paint, and raise one daughter and four sons. When the family returned to New York, Maryrose worked for the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, which gave her the opportunity to paint Westchester’s beautiful parks and marshlands.  Her work was displayed at various parks and offices.  She received a Master’s Degree in Communication Arts from the College of New Rochelle, NY in 1994.

A member of the Chatham Creative Arts Center as well as The Guild of Harwich Artists, Maryrose paints in oil and watercolor.  Her work can be seen at The Gallery in Harwich Port.  Maryrose also writes poetry, and often displays her poetry alongside her paintings. As an educator, mother, and animal fancier, she paints landscapes, still life and lots of animals, and continues to study art with well-known Cape artists and instructors.
